So Many Jobs, So Little Time
Earn a degree in business and the jobs will follow. Employers responding to the recent
National Association of College and Employers' 2007 Job Outlook survey reported that
they plan to hire 22 percent more M.B.A. graduates than they did last year. In addition,
the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates that the employment of individuals
in advertising, marketing and sales occupations will grow faster than average between
now and 2014.
The Power to Earn
In general, graduates with a business education earn comfortable livings. While specific
figures vary by company and job, in May of 2004, marketing and sales managers earned
median annual salaries in the $80,000 range, while the median earnings of accountants
and auditors were $50,770, according to BLS data.
