Fulfill your future with an Online
Distance Learning TEACHERS education.
Some people say that teaching
is the hardest job in the world but also the most fulfilling. There is a critical
shortage of teachers in the United States, and many ways to complete a teacher education
and begin working in a classroom.
Teachers are facilitators, coaches, mentors and disciplinarians. They guide students
toward an understanding of many subjects, including English, math and science.
Teacher education courses train teachers to work in different levels of education.
You can prepare for a career as a kindergarten, elementary, middle or high school
teacher.
Teacher education programs include specialized curriculum instruction, as well as
courses including classroom management, classroom design and the philosophy of education.
In order to teach in any public school and most private schools, you need a bachelor's
degree. Public schools also require a teaching license, which can be secured through
each state. Because of the critical shortage of teachers, there are also other dynamic
programs like Teach for America that allow young people without licenses to teach
in certain public schools where needed.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics expects an increase in teaching positions, as many
experienced teachers retire overin the next decade. The median earnings of public
school teachers ranged from $41,400 to $45, 920 in 2004. Some teachers made as much
as $71,370 that year.
